Behind every statistic is a family that slept a little easier, a child who stayed in school, and a patient who got care.

The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) is one of India's largest and longest-running early childhood programmes, run by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. It delivers a package of six services — supplementary nutrition, pre-school non-formal education, immunisation, health check-ups, referral services, and nutrition & health education — through Anganwadi centres in every community.
ICDS exists for children under six, pregnant and lactating mothers, and adolescent girls — precisely the families we serve in Polichalur. As a collaborating trust, our role is to strengthen that delivery on the ground: sourcing and sponsoring nutritious food hampers, supporting Anganwadi centres, and helping families actually access the services they are entitled to.

Nutritious food hampers distributed
Working with Anganwadi centres under ICDS, children who once came to class on empty stomachs now receive a consistent, nutritious hamper each month — and their attendance and energy have followed.
Families receive support quietly and respectfully. No public hand-outs, no photographs of distress — just what they need, when they need it.
Local volunteers, ICDS workers, and donors form one network. What starts as a single donation often becomes years of involvement.
